2. App Notices

Yup uses Captain for the adult parent or legal guardian who manages a family and Player for a child using a Captain-managed profile. Yup is a family organization and motivation tool, not an emergency, medical, mental-health, childcare, education, safety-monitoring, or financial service. Captains remain responsible for real-world supervision and age-appropriate missions and rewards. Coins, XP, points, streaks, badges, and Captain-created rewards have no cash value.

5. App-Store Terms

Apple App Store or Google Play terms may apply to downloads, subscriptions, billing, cancellation, and refunds. Apps from Apple’s App Store are subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless Apple presents a valid custom EULA. Only a Captain may purchase the current Yup subscription; the entitlement may apply to the Captain’s family team.

Yup currently uses:

  • Resend for verification, password-reset, support, and service email.

  • Expo for EAS Updates and push-notification delivery.

  • Apple for Sign in with Apple, StoreKit subscriptions, and iOS notifications.

  • Google for Google OAuth, Firebase Hosting, and Android notifications.

  • Framer for public-website hosting and delivery.

PostgreSQL provides primary data storage. Redis and BullMQ support queues and temporary operational data. Each service remains subject to its applicable terms and licenses.

7. Open-Source Software

Yup and its infrastructure may include open-source components. Each component remains licensed under the terms supplied by its copyright owner. Applicable mobile-binary notices should remain available in the app’s Legal and Licenses screen or may be requested at policy@yup.kids.
